Infortrend SAS/SAS 2.5"
EonStor DS SAS RAID, twelve 2.5" disks
2.5 inch disks are well known from the notebook market, but they are also very interesting for external RAID systems: As the RAID system's performance depends mostly on the number of spindles, which means the number of disk drives used, in the same size of a RAID system a much higher performance can be achieved.
Furthermore because of their smaller for factor 2.5" drives consume much less power than 3.5" drives, and the cost of power during its life time is an important factor in the calculation of the "total cost of ownership“ (TCO) of a system.
For these systems also solid state disks (SSD) with very high I/O thoughput can be offered.
EonStor DS SAS RAID systems furthemore offer snapshots and local mirroring/replication to an additional volume, optionally also thin provisioning.
EonStor DS RAID systems can also be offered with Fibre Channel or with iSCSI Interface.
